Early this summer, my nine-year-old son Henry started experiencing frequent headaches and nausea. He had previously been prescribed migraine medication for these symptoms. However, when he began complaining of double vision, we took him to an optometrist. During the examination, they discovered that his optic nerves did not appear as they should. Consequently, he was referred for further testing at the hospital. The next day, he underwent an MRI scan. Just a few hours later, we found ourselves in a room with a nurse, a doctor, and a specialist who informed us that the images showed a brain tumor. Shortly afterward, we were taken by ambulance to Norways main university hospital for observation and surgery the following day. This remains the worst day of my life.

As I write this, it has been two weeks since the surgery, and we are still at the hospital, now in the cancer ward for chemotherapy, as the tumor was found to be malignant. Fortunately, the prognosis is good, but the healing process can take up to 1.5 years. During this challenging time, the support of family and friends has been invaluable, as has the crafting community. Since starting my YouTube channel, I have only encountered positivity. Therefore, I am reaching out to the crafting community for help.

You have the opportunity to assist children and parents in their most desperate days, weeks, and years. To improve the chances for children in the future, research is essential. Thus, I have initiated a fundraising campaign for research on pediatric cancer.
